PSA! A blender, a few common ingredients and 2 minutes of your time can change your coffee game forever! Hello Peanut Butter Chocolate Mocha! Whether you like an occasional treat or a daily dose of fancy, this is a quick way to step up your coffee game!

I have spent way more time, energy and money on unhealthy coffee drinks than I would like to admit. In my high school there was a coffee cart on campus and that (as well as Taco Bell) is where I spent the money that I earned by working in the daycare! Once I outgrew the high school coffee cart I graduated to the hometown coffee options. Before and sometimes after work I would go almost every day to the local coffee shops that my friends worked for. It became a daily habit and I didn’t realize how much extra sugar and junky ingredients I was consuming! There are healthy options at some places and I do enjoy an occasional treat from those places.

The biggest issue I have anymore with getting coffee is the TIME that it takes! I use coffee shops as a place to meet up with friends and chat! (My husband and I met at a coffee shop!) As my life has become more complicated in my old age… (JK, I am not that old-comparing to my teen years here!) I realize that taking that extra time in the morning is not my jam at all. All of the extra 5-10 minutes plus the energy to find a place to stop, make the stop, get out of the car, go in, decide what I want, order, then wait for my drink…. (or do it all through drivethrough) is not cool. It has no place in my normal morning routine. My mornings were so chill with my old job that I would wake up, shower, throw my hair in a pony, make some oatmeal and go! I used to be able to wear yoga pants and a t-shirt to my job and OMG that was the best! I could put scrubs on at work over my clothes then take them off and leave them at work, arrive home ready for my workout and chill! Hehehehe! The only thing that changed with my new job is I can now wear my hair down (waaaay easier) and I have a uniform shirt. The only decision I have to make is which pair of black pants or skirt I want to pair it with that day! I am pretty minimalist with my morning routine all around anymore. I like simplicity with my day to day work routine! I have a simple start of the day with my same uniform for work, same hair, same makeup (which I just started wearing again regularly) and same food. Let’s leave the decision making for the more important things, shall we?

All that being said, I am all about supporting local businesses and have no problem with spending money on a daily cup of joe. The biggest issue that I have is that most coffeeshops don’t have healthy options or ingredients with their sweet drinks. I also don’t have the taste for extra sugary drinks that I used to. This as well as the time I don’t want to spend on it led me to making this recipe at home. Most days I prefer simple coffee. I really prefer black coffee or a little more substantial drink by adding a little coconut cream, heavy cream and honey! Occasionally I will crave a sweet drink so I decided to perfect and share my go-to for making one. We have a Vitamix and like to buy organic coconut oil, grass fed butter and peanut butter for this treat! We tend to have local honey on hand from the grocery store as well as either semi sweet or milk chocolate chips! I save time by not measuring and just eyeballing it, TBH.

We highly encourage experimentation when cooking, after all that is how we began blogging about our creations!
