About this Recipe

This is a really simple Instant Pot Lentil Soup recipe using just lentils, split peas and a few veggies. We always add some extra Piri-Piri because we like our soup...


✓ 6 cups stock (meat or veggie)
✓ 4 cups water (hot is best)
✓ 2 cups russett or sweet potatoes (peeled and chopped into 1 1/2" chunks)
✓ 2 cups carrots (peeled and chopped into 1 1/2" chunks)
✓ 2 cups thinly sliced green cabbage
✓ 1/2 cup brown lentils
✓ 1/2 cup yellow split peas
✓ 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or other oil of choice)
✓ 2 teaspoon salt
✓ 1 teaspoon garlic powder
✓ 1 teaspoon onion powder
✓ 1 teaspoon coriander
✓ 1/4 teaspoon piri piri (or cayenne


✓ Add liquid to the Instant Pot liner
✓ Add all other ingredients and stir
✓ Close lid, turn vent to seal and set for 13 minutes on "soup"
✓ Allow to release pressure*
✓ Stir and enjoy with crusty sourdough bread!
